Modelling Climate Neutrality for the European Green Deal

The European Green Deal envisions a bold transformation of the economy, society and the energy system to reach climate neutrality. As part of the Energy Modelling Platform for Europe (EMP-E) conference in 2020, this Special Issue focuses on technological roadmaps, decarbonization policies, linkage of energy and climate modelling, openness and transparency of modelling, socio-economic impacts of energy transition, consumer and citizen engagement and many others.

The EMP-E brings together scientists and policy makers working on current energy modelling and energy policy issues, looking at the current and future opportunities for change. This annual conference seeks to bridge the gap between scientific modellers and policy makers at all levels, with the support of European Commission representatives.
